Dr. Cai is a symphony conductor at Stanford University. As a teenager, he grew up in in Beijing during the Cultural Revolution, where Western ideas, including Western music, were forbidden. As a young adult, Dr. Cai moved to America to study music. He now lives in Palo Alto and has two children, Sebastian, fifteen, and Cecilia, thirteen. Dr. Cai strives to better himself in order to give back to his society as best he can. He strongly believes in the power of education and the wisdom that can be gained from music.
